Uganda Agribusiness Alliance (UAA)

Organization Type: Service Provider

The Uganda Agribusiness Alliance (UAA) represents the collective interests of the agribusiness industry in Uganda. It is a network of agribusinesses and agribusiness related apex organisations working towards an inclusive and competitive agribusiness industry in Uganda. UAA positions agribusiness as the most plausible agent of change to reduce poverty and economic vulnerability, improve food and nutritional security, as well as create employment opportunities for the majority of Ugandans.

This is achieved by:

i) Supporting members and partners to collectively identify and address systemic bottlenecks which affect agribusiness development across the country;

ii) Supporting and/or incubating multi-stakeholder networks to find and take systemic solutions to the ground, and integrate them across commodity value chains along with other value-chain specific interventions solutions. These multi-stakeholder networks are either commodity value chain specific or issues-based (e.g., on agricultural finance, food safety and market standards including Sanitary and Phytosanitary Standards, responsible land tenure, human capital, etc.).
